Anime Five Cities (AFC) began in the summer of 2010 as a local all-ages anime and Asian pop culture convention for the California Central Coast. The organizers of AFC recognize that the anime fandom in the Central Coast need not drive hundreds of miles to the north or the south of the State to be able to meet new friends, have fun, and share their love of anime, manga, and Asian pop culture.
Staffed by both veteran volunteers from many of the California conventions and local high school and college students, AFC aims to also show that there are positive, geek-friendly events that they can participate in that are local and wholesome.
AFC will continue to support the anime fandom in the Central Coast through the main event and through small events throughout the year.
