Information: AnniCon began in March 2011 as a free, one-day mini-convention of Japanese culture including art, music, costuming, manga, anime, food, history, and special guests at the Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County. AnniCon 2012, 2013, and 2014 saw attendance quickly jump to over 200 attendees necessitating a move from the Library to a larger location, the Anniston City Meeting Center. AnniCon 2015 saw over 500 attendees and was also the first year it hosted the addition of vendors and artisans.
AnniCon 2016 expects more attendees than ever before and will require additional space within the Anniston City Meeting Center. We plan to add more variety with the addition of a Gaming track and an Anime viewing room. We plan to expand the Vendor/Artist space to accommodate more Vendors/Artists and the larger numbers of attendees. We want to book the best speakers and musicians to continue making AnniCon an entertaining and engaging FREE cultural experience for all ages.
