Biography:
Aya Kamiki is a Japan Gold Disk Award-winning singer, actress and model. In 2003, she released her first CD, BREATH from FOR LIFE RECORDS under her previous artist name, Kurimu. The following year, she transferred to Being, Inc. and continued her musical career with Osaka as her base of operations. She had her major label debut in 2006. One of her most well-known songs, "Pierrot", was ranked 9th on the Oricon Chart, the Japanese version of the Billboard music chart.
Not limiting herself to a singing career, she expanded into fashion, appearing as the cover model of KERA fashion magazine. She also ventured into musicals, performing in the Broadway hit RENT.
Kamiki won the Japan Gold Disk Award for new artist of the year in 2007.
After her contract with Being (Giza Studio) ended in July 2009, Aya Kamiki moved to Tokyo and signed with the label Avex. In the same year, she performed at one of the largest outdoor concerts in Japan, "A-nation".
After her contract with Avex ended in 2011, she moved back to indie music. She continued her solo musical career while simultaneously performing in musicals.
In August 2015, she partnered with some of the top musicians in Japan to create the band UROBOROS, for which she is the vocalist and lyricist.
In 2017, she partnered with guitarist MIYAKO to create the group SONIC LOVER RECKLESS.
