News for Middle Tennessee Anime Convention 2010:

Middle Tennessee Anime Convention announces first round of guests

NASHVILLE, TN - The Middle Tennessee Anime Convention celebrates its tenth event - MTAC Odyssey (April 30-May 2, 2010) - with favorite guests of the past decade, including...

Neil Kaplan first graced us with his presence back in 2007 at MTAC Prime. Neil has a long and varied career in voice acting, ranging from Optimus Prime in Transformers: Robots in Disguise and Hawkman from Digimon to the villain Diabolico from Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue.

Doug Smith's long history with us dates back to MTAC 4.01 Beta in 2004. Doug is famous both for his voice work - especially as Kintaro Oe in Golden Boy - and his artwork, which has been used for CD album covers, magazines, comics, posters, anime convention program guides, badges, DVDs and TV.

Jan Scott-Frazier's first appearance at MTAC was in 2002 at MTAC Pi. Jan worked in the animation industry in Japan for almost 14 years and has become an expert in many different aspects of animation production, such as cel painting, animating, backgrounds, camera and directing. She currently produces albums for Voices For, a non-profit corporation and is writing her memoirs.

Sonny Strait was one of MTAC‚s first guests, going as far back as 2001's MTAC 2-1/2. Sonny brought his voice to several well-known characters, including Krillin of Dragon Ball Z, Maes Hughes of Fullmetal Alchemist and the titular Lupin III. Sonny is also an accomplished comic artist, known for his work for Elfquest and Tokyopop and his own web comic Car Bombs.

Lisa Furukawa graces us once again with performing her fusion of Japanese folk, alternative pop, and electronic music. She made her convention debut astonishing the crowd with a beautiful rendition of the Tennessee Waltz in Japanese at 2005's MTAC Go. This convention will mark Lisa's fifth appearance at MTAC.

Steve Yun and Tommy Yune come to MTAC Odyssey as a part of the Robotech Tour, celebrating 25 years of Robotech. Steve is the webmaster of the official Robotech web site. Tommy Yune is Harmony Gold's creative director, overseeing new development such as Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles. Steve Yun and the 20th anniversary Robotech Tour visited MTAC Go in 2005. This is Tommy Yune's first trip to the hallowed halls of MTAC, and we welcome him in joining our long family of guests.

We're celebrating 10 years of MTAC and are glad to see so many of our good friends from our first decade returning. Find out more about our guests and stay tuned for more guest and event announcements at http://www.mtac.net.
