Zenkaikon 2008 announces first round of guests

VALLEY FORGE, PA - Zenkaikon 2008 is pleased to announce the first guests for its 2008 show; comedian "Uncle Yo" and webcomic artists Jessi Bavolack and Matt Pascal of "Geeks Next Door" and Charles Batschelet of "Subpar Comic"

About Karl "Uncle Yo" Custer:

After being a smash hit at Zenkaikon 2007, and having just discovered the horrific elements that goes into the alchemy of a Twinkie, Uncle Yo returns to Zenkaikon to fulfill your comedic needs. Now a veteran for conventions throughout the East Coast, Yo comes prepared with new stand-up material on video games, anime, manga, comic books, table-top gaming, and zombies. About Jessi Bavolack and Matt Pascal:

One night after not going out and getting drunk, Matt Pascal and Jessi Bavolack realized that they were geeks in love. Having nothing better to do, they decided to create a webcomic to chronicle the crazy stuff that either happened or was imagined in their lives. Thus, "Geeks Next Door" was born. Jessi draws amusing pictures while Matt comes up with funny things to say.

About Charles Batschelet:

Charles J Batschelet is the writer and illustrator of Subpar. Subpar is Charles' outlet for his creativity and his first attempt at a webcomic. It has developed since its start in Oct. 2006 into a comic with a good core following. The characters are all aspects of Charles' personality (such as mischief, or dry sarcastic humor), or those people who are special to his life.

About Zenkaikon:
Zenkaikon was formed by the merger of the anime and sci-fi con Zentrancon, and the anime con, Kosaikon, both in the Philadelphia area. In 2006 they put on their first event which was a tremendous success. Zenkaikon will return to the Valley Forge Scanticon Conference Center for its third installment on 10/17-10/18/08. The con will kick off its expansion to two days of programming on the evening of Friday, October 17 with concerts,a Cosplay Ball, gaming and other special events. A full day of convention action will follow on Saturday, October 18 with video screenings, concerts, gaming, cosplay masquerade, the new Zenkaikon favorites - the anime version of "Whose Line Is It Anyway" and The Cosplay Dating Game, and so much more!
