News for San Japan 2008:

San Japan announces final round of guests

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - June 8th, 2008 - San Japan, San Antonio's first major Japanese Culture and Anime Convention on the historic Riverwalk has today announced the final round of guests for its debut convention which includes voice actors Carli Mosier, Hannah Alcorn, J-Rock cover band Knuckle Sandwich and cosplay guests Shoeless Cosplay.

Carli Mosier is probably best known for her performance as the sexy Detective Yukika in Nerima Daikon Brothers. Most recently, anime fans saw Carli as the proper, and quite often chaotic, Student Council President Yuri Kurosu in Magikano, which was released in December 2007. Carli has also lent her impressive vocal talents as a singer to the upcoming Voices for Tolerance album.

Hannah Alcorn has recently ventured into the anime industry as a voice actress, and can be heard in her first two principal roles for ADV Films, the sweet-but-bumbling witch hunter Marin Nijihara in "Magikano," and as the lead female character Sunako in the new Shinichi Watanabe comedy "The Wallflower."

Brought together by a coincidental interest in Visual Rock, Knuckle Sandwich shares a chemistry that can't be practiced. Influenced by anything from X Japan to Mega NRG Man, their style is hard to define. The set list will include covers from your favorite anime like Naruto and Death Note. Also included is cosplay guests Shoeless Cosplay with their impressive cosplay which have won multiple awards in a short amount of time.

San Japan will be held from August 8th through the 10th at the San Antonio Municipal Auditorium and the El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel. San Japan will be having its debut three-day convention this August after a successful one-day convention called Zero Day Anime back in November 2007 at Our Lady Of The Lake University.

Planned events include cosplay, where attendees dress as their favorite characters, with a hall competition and evening masquerade, Ani-Idol karoke competition, video screenings, gaming tournaments, guest panels, workshops, two anime-themed dances, concerts including the USA premiere of Smile.DK, and autograph signings with the guests. It will be a three-day event in which San Japan will be bringing a distinct style of Japanese culture to the Alamo City.
