Maganda
Band
Los Angeles, CA
Biography:
Maganda is an electronic & synthpop duo based in Los Angeles, California.
Inspired by music and the arts from an early age, in 2008 vocalist & songwriter Maganda moved from New York to Los Angeles, where he met composer & producer Tommy Pedrini. Their mutual love of retro sounds became a collaborative project that combines the elements of disco, house, chiptune and electro. This project is also evocative of the music scene of both New York and Los Angeles underground.
Since the band's debut in 2009, Maganda has performed live at clubs in Los Angeles, released an album, and appeared at a number of events (including the D1 Grand Prix, Tune in Tokyo, Free Your Mind Music & Arts Festival, & Animation on Display San Francisco) throughout California. In 2010, MAGANDA has been titled "MUSE" for designer Tomomi Fukuda of CAMDENLOCK (whose high profile clients include Green Day & Trent Reznor/ NIN) and has since become the inspiration for CAMDENLOCKS womens line. MAGANDA had been invited by Anime Expo to perform at their NOKIA PLAZA OUDOOR SUMMER STAGE on July 4th weekend, performing for an event with over 40,000 attendees. MAGANDA had also released their first online digital single for sale on Itunes, Amazon and other major internet retailers.
