News for ConnectiCon 2005:
Drive to save ConnectiCon reaches its goal
by PatrickDIn less than two weeks, through the efforts of many web comic creators, $34,292.13 has been raised to pay off ConnectiCon's $34,148.50 debt.
"We reached our goal! Our friends are safe and it's all because of you guys," says SaveConnectiCon.com. "Thank you so much for your help and donations. We now all look forward to ConnectiCon 2006!"
ConnectiCon's vice chairperson, Briana Benn, has posted that they may sell some items through the web site "to help out with money for 2006."
"I am not currently aware of any projects the web comics are working on to help raise 'seed money' for ConnectiCon 2006 and that is not/was not the intention of the site anyway," says Mathew Daigle, the chairman and founder of ConnectiCon. "I'm still in a bit of shock that the web comics community rallied so quickly and that their fans donated so much in such a short time."
ConnectiCon 2006 is scheduled for July 21-23, 2006 in Hartford, CT.
