News for Anime Festival Orlando 2006:
Anime Festival Orlando 7 announces first annual fan film contest
Orlando, FL (April 11, 2006): Anime Festival Orlando, or AFO, has announced they will be hosting their first annual Fan Film Contest. "This is something that has been in development for a few years at the request of our staff and attendees," said President of AFO, Karen Trudeau. Anime Music Videos are a staple featured at just about any anime convention; and probably always will be. However, the creative minds of anime fans have been thirsting for a new challenge and will be able to rise to the occasion at AFO7 this July.
To compliment the Fan Film Contest, Anime Festival Orlando 7 will roll out the first annual AFOscars. As commented by convention vice president, Erik Reiss, "We thought we'd go for an industry favorite in awards ceremonies for the fan film contest." What better way to recognize filmmakers than with an awards show styled after the Academy Awards? The AFOscars will be complete with celebrity presenters, performances and all the Hollywood glam you could ever want. Hollywood East, that is.
Anime Festival Orlando returns to the Wyndham Orlando Resort July 28th, 29th and 30th this year for AFO7. Film Festival rules and further announcements, coming soon on their website at www.animefestivalorlando.com
