News for Phoenix Comicon 2009:
Yuri Lowenthal and Matt Greenfield to appear at Phoenix Comicon
Mesa - The Phoenix Comicon has signed Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke from "Naruto"), and Matt Greenfield (Senior VP of ADVision/ADVFilms) to come and speak at the January '09 convention.
"With the addition of these two anime heavy-weighs, we're going to have quite a show next January," promised Matt Solberg, Convention Director, "I just hope that we can keep crazy ninjas and girls named Excel in control!"
During a chock-filled career, Yuri Lowenthal has acted all over the world and has had a creative hand, writing, producing, and acting, in everything from movies to short stories. His extensive credits include the Cartoon Network hit Naruto (playing Sasuke Uchiha), the voice of the Prince himself in the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time video game, and Ben Tennyson in another CN hit, Ben 10: Alien Force.
"As Sasuke Uchiha, Yuri is in the center of a swirling fandom," said Amy Black, Director of Guest Relations, "No doubt he's got some fun stories to share."
Matt Greenfield is an anime industry great. He has worked as either a writer, producer, or director on over 500 anime and live action titles, including classics like Excel Saga. His voice is featured in over 300 anime, as well, often under the pseudonym Brian Granveldt. While doing all of this, he worked as Senior VP of ADVision/ADVFilms for 15 years. Now married to voice actor Tiffany Grant, also a Phoenix Comicon guest, his current projects include an original animated series and contributions to the Evangellion feature film.
"Matt has seen every side of the anime industry, from business to creativity," said Joe Boudrie, Programming Director, "We're very excited to offer this opportunity to our attendees."
