Geek.Kon announces new guests and new pre-registration process

Madison, WI -- July 24, 2009 -- Geek.Kon is pleased to announce a streamlined preregistration system that allows for easier online preregistration and payment. Geek.Kon is also excited to announce a third round of guests including the Spoony Bards, Aaron Pavao, and Raven Software.

Spoony Bards - Known for their ability to assemble any available combination of vocal and instrumental talents, the Spoony Bards began when a group of friends both old and new met and spontaneously performed at Anime Central 2004. Since then they have been featured at over a dozen conventions, playing anime and video game music for days at a time. Performing everything from Beck and Cowboy Bebop to Final Fantasy and Zelda, count on them to create a relaxed, fun, and spirited musical atmosphere at Geek.Kon!

Aaron Pavao - started his career in geekery as a child playing D&D with the babysitter, and sold his first game (Live Role-Playing Chess) as a teen. Since then, he has been involved in many aspects of gaming. He has run campaign-style LARPs, designed board, card, and role-playing games, run a game company, and yes, bought games just to read them. His geekiness even extended to his romantic life when he encoded his marriage proposal into a Shadowrun book. His most recent work includes a card game and expansions licensed to Atlas Games and freelance work in over a dozen titles for Catalyst Game Labs.

Raven Software - has been a force to be reckoned with in the video gaming industry for alomst 20 years. A local company to Madison, they have worked closely with the likes of ID Software, LucasArts, and Activision (whom they are now merged with) to bring out games such as Heretic, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, and Quake IV. This year Raven Software has released X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Wolfenstein, and is Scheduled to release Singularity later this year.
